Firefighters put out a blaze in a mid Essex sports club in the early hours of today
Two pumps from Braintree fire station and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were called to Cressing Sports and Social Club in Jeffrey's Road, Tye Green, at 2.45am.
They found the single-storey building "25 per cent well alight," but put the fire out within 30 minutes.
A suspicious fire investigation was launched initially, but the cause of the blaze was later declared not suspicious.
Firefighters were called back to the club about 6am by reports that the fire had re-ingnited, but found it was just steam rising off the wreckage.
Fire investigation officers were due to revisit the scene later today.
