Dozens of unneccessary yellow lines around Southend may be removed creating more parking spaces for residents.
A review of yellow lines around the borough by consultants concluded that many of the single yellow lines were superfluous. Peter Wexham, Lib Dem highways and transport spokesman said he was pleased.
He said: "The main conclusion of the report was that many thousands of additional parking places for residents can be found across the town simply by getting rid of a lot of unnecessary double yellow lines."
