Canvey angler Richard Martin weighed in 25lb 7oz to take the top weight in Tony Cheeseman's Colmic-sponsored Northlands Park Evening match for the second week running.
And with two more matches still to go he is now at the top of the league.
At the latest match the Daiwa Dorking squad member was fishing the concrete slipway next to the car park where he weighed in numerous bream and skimmers.
Martin used both worm and maggot baits to keep the bites coming throughout the match and was playing a big bream when the final whistle went.
Wickford Angling Centre man Peter Steward took second place from the next swim with 23lb 7oz.
Steward also took fish throughout the match and was also playing a big bream at the whistle.
Quivertip tactics in conjunction with maggot and worm baits was the productive method and Steward's catch included two big tench.
Canvey man Graham Hyde took third place with 16lb 1oz 8dr, to leave himself just two points behind Martin in the overall series. Hyde fished the road lake using a quivertip to take a selection of bream and skimmers.
