A Braintree councillor has called on the county council to progress with the reopening of a Braintree primary school.
David Mann (Lab, Bocking North) made the point at last night's Braintree Council scrutiny panel meeting as councillors reviewed information from Essex County Council stating that Chapel Hill Primary School will reopen by December 2005.
Mr Mann said: "We as a council want Chapel Hill reopened and for it to be a success when it does.
"There is, we are told, a feasibility study going on, but time is of the essence because parents make decisions about where they are going to send their young children to school very early on.
"It is the sort of decision they may be coming to now and they need to know Chapel Hill is going to be there."
