One-hundred-and-twenty-four members and many helpers, enabled Thorpe Hall's Terry Cooper to experience a Captain's Day to remember.
The event managed to defy the weather forecast by remaining warm and rain free.
The course was well prepared and members thoroughly enjoyed a morning of singles stableford competition, started off four tees to enable speedier progress, and an afternoon of St Andrews Foursomes.
The winner of the Captain's Prize was Steven Shields with an excellent 42 points, which contained a first nine of gross 30, followed, unusually, by his older brother Gordon with 41 points.
Steven was cut from two to one shots and Gordon from six to five.
The afternoon foursomes on holes one to nine was won by the Captain and the Professional, Bill McColl with 23 points and the winners on holes 10-18 were Simon Goy and Richard Daniel with 22 points.
