A school was today celebrating after raising £2,500 at its summer fete.
St Joseph's Primary School, in Vaagen Road, Canvey, held its annual garden fete and is overjoyed with the figure.

Delighted headteacher Paul Collingwood said: "It was a really wonderful afternoon and a great atmosphere prevailed throughout.
"Everyone worked hard together - the children, parents, staff, parishioners and governors.
"The weather was glorious and everyone had a lovely time, so it was definitely a worthwhile day in every sense."
The Catholic primary school is looking at improving the playground but the funds may go to other projects.
