A secluded warehouse has been burnt to the ground in Wickham Bishops.
Firefighters from Witham and Chelmsford were called to the scene at 6pm yesterday in Church Road after reports of a blaze were lodged.
But the building was reduced to charred rubble today after concerns over the electricity and safety of the firefighters meant they could not tackle the fire immediately.
John Convey, acting sub officer at Chelmsford fire station, said an investigation would now begin as the origins of the fire are thought to be suspicious.
The warehouse was used as an old storage facility and at the time of the fire, contained items including tea and redundant machinery
