Chief coach Rob Park experimented with his Canvey Swimming Club squad for the trophy gala at Strood in Kent and it paid dividends.
Park rested most swimmers from their top strokes and his charges rose to the challenge to claim overall second.
Nine-year-old Kerriann Chipper-field smashed a long-standing club record in the 50m butterfly.
And 11-year-old Craig Johnson won his 50m fly, while Jenny Baker, 15, was successful in the 100m breaststroke.
Although predominantly a breaststroke star, Phillipa Bennett showed her all-round talent when cruising to first in the 50m backstroke.
Becky Moran, 13, won the 100m breaststroke, while sister Jodie, 11, was a 50m freestyle victor and Aimee Drake won the 100m fly.
Chris Chenery claimed the final Canvey top-spot, also in the 100m fly.
