The boys and girls of Hockley Primary School are getting into rugby in a big way.
After winning the Higgins Tag Rugby Festival for clubs in the Castle Point and Rochford council districts, Hockley's mixed team represented the area at the Essex Youth Games where they finished in a fine fifth place.

"We were one of only a handful of school teams there," said headteacher Mike Jones.
"Rugby has proved very popular amongst the pupils and one or two have gone on to join Rochford Hundred, while some who were not very sporty have found their niche."
Rochford Hundred RFC's director of youth rugby Darrell Edwards has coached the school's enthusiastic students both tag and contact rugby.
"We've been liaising very closely with the rugby club and are looking forward to forming a closer relationship with them," added Jones.
