Colchester United hero Alan White today welcomed news of the U's Carling Cup, first round home draw against Plymouth Argyle.
And there was home joy for neighbours Ipswich Town too. They will entertain Third Division Kidderminster Harriers at Portman Road.
Both ties must be completed on the night and will take place within the first week of the new season.
The U's and Plymouth have never met before in the League Cup in any of its previous forms.
But, delighted by the news, popular central defender White said: "I fancy a run in one of the cup competitions this season, so it's great to have been drawn at home against a good team, but a team I know we can beat."
