Two pizza parlour workers today told how they got the shock of their lives when they were struck by lightning.
Braintree teenagers Stephen Kelly, 18, of Hunter Drive, and Matthew Walter, 17, of Dover Close, were left shaken but not stirred when the thunderbolt from the blue hit the Domino's Pizza takeaway in Coggeshall Road, Braintree, during thunderstorms.
But they are so committed to their jobs, that they carried on making the pizzas.
Mr Walter said: "We were all making pizzas and suddenly we heard this massive bang and saw this massive white flash at the front of the store.
"Steve and I were leaning on metal tables and we both got quite an electric shock.
"We were a little bit traumatised for about half an hour but we carried on working because there were a lot of pizzas to be made."
The strike, last Tuesday, caused £7,000 damage to the branch's computer systems
