Shoppers were forced to leave a supermarket after a fire broke out today
Firefighters were called out to Sainsbury's store at Tollgate, Colchester, at about 10am when automated fire alarms were set off.
Three crews from Colchester were sent to the blaze. The fire was found to be a fat fryer which had caught alight.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus to tackle the incident described as a small fire.
No-one was available at the store at the time of going to press, although it is believed the supermarket was not badly damaged by the fire
