It was a case of sunshine all the way for the two Southend High Schools as they almost totally dominated the senior Borough Sports at Garon Park in hot and sultry weather conditions.

While Southend High for Boys won all the trophies on the day, the Girls were only stopped from achieving a clean sweep by winners Westcliff High and Eastwood pushing them into third place for the Relay Cup.
Southend's overall success in the boys was on 705.3 points -- more than double the tally of runners-up Cecil Jones (352) with Westcliff a close third on 348.
Among the girls, Southend triumphed on 468 with St Bernard's runners-up on 324 and Westcliff third on 318.
