Police today warned young vandals who throw stones at buses that they could be jailed for life Officers are to clampdown on the dangerous thugs after a Thamesway bus packed with passengers came under attack in Bull Lane, Rayleigh, on Saturday evening.

A side window was shattered.

Fortunately, nobody was injured but police fear someone would be killed by the stone-throwing yobs.

Sgt Kevin Diable-White said: "British law is very strict on offenders who commit crimes which could result in the loss of life. If intent is proven then those guilty could be jailed for a long time."
