A man has been jailed for a burglary at the mental health unit where he had been receiving treatment.
Mark Dutnall also handled stolen property from The Linden Centre at Broomfield Hospital, a court heard.
Dutnall, 22, was stopped by police in Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, with a computer laptop and mouse that had been stolen from the centre in February.
When police searched his home in Neptune Court, Chelmsford, they found a mobile phone stolen during an earlier burglary.
Dutnall was jailed for 12 months after he admitted one charge of burglary and two of handling stolen goods when he appeared at court for sentence.
The court heard the burglary charge related to Dutnall being spotted in a restricted area at the centre on February 4 on CCTV. Nothing was stolen, Kate Davey, prosecuting, said.
Matthew Pardoe, mitigating, said had been receiving treatment at the centre at the time
