Once again the girls from St Hilda's School, Westcliff, were in triumphant form at the Independent Schools' Association regional championships in Colchester.

Alyce Baglow, Emma Dossor, Thea Marriner and Iman Taboada, all from year seven, won the 4 x 100m relay.

Francesca Singleton and Lily Marriner, from years eight and nine respectively, triumphed in their field events -- Lily with the shot and Francesca in the long jump.

In the senior age group Charlotte Lafferty won the javelin.

Many of the other girls were placed second and third in their events, a superb achievment, on a great afternoon for the school.

The seven winners now go on to compete in the national finals at Birmingham tomorrow.
