Colchester United are looking to rearrange at least four of their home games for next season.
And Bristol City have already agreed to put back the August Bank Holiday Monday, Layer Road clash 24 hours - subject to Nationwide Football League approval.
U's football secretary Sonya Constantine told the Evening Gazette today the club has provisional plans to switch three more of its fixtures.
They include the first home game of the season against Swindon Town, currently scheduled for the second Saturday, August 16.
The U's are aiming to bring the match forward to Friday night on police advice because manning levels will be stretched throughout the county the next day due to the annual V Festival at Chelmsford and festivities in Southend.
Other fixtures involved include the October 25 game with Chesterfield and the February 21 match against Grimsby Town.
The U's are seeking approval to bring both of these forward from Saturday to Friday.
