Organisers of Thurrock Beer Festival are appealing for the return of a giant banner which disappeared on the fifth night of the six-day event.
The banner, which said Beer Festival Here, was taken from outside Thurrock Civic Hall in Blackshots Lane, Grays, after the Friday night session.
The festival is run and staffed by Camra members who are all volunteers. Organiser Dave Keeble said: "We would appreciate its return. It can be handed in at the Civic Hall, anonymously if required."
This year's festival proved an enormous success with nearly 4,000 visitors drinking more than 12,000 pints of real ale and cider. About 180 real ales from breweries throughout the UK were on offer.
There was one slight hiccup, however. The beer ran out just before the end of the final session.
