The Hammers maintained their impressive run of home form with a comfortable victory on Friday night in the Premier League clash at the Purfleet Raceway.
Hero of the night was teenage reserve Jason King who took seven rides to notch 13 points to support an impressive performance by heatleader Leigh Lanham, who collected a hat-trick of race wins in his 13-point return.
But 19-year-old King reeled off four successive battling triumphs to earn the plaudits of the crowd enjoying the return of the sport after a three-week gap.
Former Grand Prix star Carl Stonehewer had given his side an opening race 4-2 lead but Arena Essex fought back.
Joonas Kylmakorpi and King fashioned a 4-2 in heat four to level the scores and the Hammers took the lead two races later through a maximum from Kelvin Tatum and Henning Bager.
