Parents of children at more than a dozen schools will be trained to help with homework.
Headteachers from infant and primary schools met staff from Tendring Adult Community College at the Tower Hotel, Dovercourt.
Tracy Hewett, the college's business development manager, said new courses would be launched in September, aimed at helping parents help their children.
She said: "All the heads bought into the philosophy of family learning. We have got courses starting all over the place. Most of them have booked courses for a year, which is quite phenomenal."
Parents who drop their children at the schools in Harwich and Dovercourt will then be able to stay for two hours to take part in the courses.
For more details, call the college on 01255 502467.
