Cycling hero Stuart Green, who has completed a gruelling 5,000 mile ride to Siberia, will be the guest of honour at a charity walk at Broomfield Hospital on Sunday, June 22.
Stuart, 47, from St Mary's Close, Panfield, will be officially opening the walk and fun day at the hospital which, together with the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, saved his life after a road accident.
The invitation to Stuart to perform the opening ceremony was made following his recent return from his epic cycle ride from Broomfield Hospital to Siberia.
He set off on the ride in January this year and was given a hero's welcome when he arrived in Siberia.
Stuart staged the ride to raise funds for orthopaedic services at Broomfield Hospital and the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
He chose Ilizarov Institute in Kurgan, Siberia, as his destination because his leg was saved thanks to a special Ilizarov frame.
The main event of the day will be a sponsored one mile walk for people who have had orthopaedic surgery, especially those who have joint replacements.
Money raised will go towards orthopaedic services.
