Staff from the Eastgate restaurant have been working with children from Wickford's St Anne Line Junior school to teach them about caring for the environment.
Pupils were set the challenge of designing a poster to encourage the public to be more environmentally aware and understand the damage caused by litter.
The winning poster was designed by ten-year-old Georgina Robb and will now be given pride of place on a wall in the McDonald's town centre outlet. The runners-up were given T-shirts and rucksacks.
