Residents' lives are being made a misery by loud and late music from a Scout hut, according to a 71-year-old woman.
The woman - who does not want to be named - lives 50 metres from the Kingswood Scout Hut in Deepdene, Basildon.
She claims that groups rent out the hall and often play music until one or two in the morning, even though the licence only runs until 11pm.
She said: "At night it is really loud and it shakes the house. It happens most weekends."
Environmental health officers from Basildon Council visited the site in October last year after a complaint.
"The noise patrol officers visited the centre and served a noise abatement order.
But a spokesman for the council said: "We haven't had any more complaints.
"If any further complaint is made while noise is in progress our officers will attend and consider prosecution under the abatement order."
Nobody from the scout group was available for comment.
