There was no individual success for local golfers when the Essex Amateur Championship was staged over four rounds at the Essex Golf Complex, Hainault.
However, Orsett took the Esplen Trophy for the top team award with Steve McAnally their top finisher on sixth place with 289 after rounds of 75, 72,70 and 72 for 289.
Winning the team award gains Orsett a place in the English Champions Club Tournament to be held at Kings Lynn on September 12 and 13.
Joining McAnally in the Orsett team, who pipped Channels by one stroke, were Alex Woodward and Steve Rooney.
Individual champion was Chelmsford's Lloyd Kennedy with a gross score of 277 after rounds of 70, 66, 71 and 70.
