If you fancy becoming a qualified referee by the time the new football season kicks off in August then sign up to the Essex County FA's weekend course which is running in Chelmsford this summer.
After a successful course in March, which saw all 36 candidates gain their refs' badge, the ECFA will be returning to the Chelmsford Police HQ in Springfield on July 19 and 20 for another two days of laws-of-the-game tutoring.
"The course is ideal for those who are looking for a fast track way to becoming a referee," explained the referee development officer Terry Thacker.
"It's intensive and you've got to be committed to getting through as there is a lot of information to take on board and we also hold the written and oral exams on the Sunday afternoon."
All candidates are sent booklets and literature for pre study prior to the start of the £34 course which includes two hot lunches and runs from 8.45am to 6pm on both days.
Successful candidates are offered in service training within six months of passing their exams and are also given help and guidance as they begin their Essex County FA refereeing careers.
