Southend Swimming Club's George Morrisadded to his collection of national qualifying times when a small squad of their swimmers competed at the Waltham Forest Open.
Morris had wins in the 200 individual medley in a national qualifying time and the 200 backstroke.
He was second in both the 400m and 200m freestyle events, achieving national qualifying times in both. Morriswon the top 11yr-old boy award for his performance.
Other Southendfinalists were Jenni Lawton (100 and 50m freestyle) and Keith Bridge (100m breaststroke). Alex Cullen and Patrick Oakley both swam personal best times in theirevents.
At the Colchester open meet Southend collected 23 medals as follows: Adam Brumby, 2nd, 14yrs 100m free, back and individual medley; Jane Brumby, 2nd, 12yrs 50m backand 3rd breaststroke, freeand individual medley;Dean Brumby, 3rd, 10yrs back and free,4th individual medley and breaststroke; Hannah Atkins, 2nd, 14yrs100m fly, 3rdback, 4th individual medley and 6th free; Patrick Oakley, 3rd, 12yrs free and fly, 4th backstroke and individual medley; Laura Smyth, 3rd 100m fly, 4th 100m back and 5th 100m individual medley; Fiona Hopkins, 5th, 11yrs 50m breaststroke (personal best).
