Athletes from Thorpe Bay's Alleyn Court School made their mark when the regional finals of the Independent Schools Association athletics championships were staged at Garon Park track.

A total of 19 schools from across East Anglia took part at the Eastern Avenue, Southend, venue and all winners now go on to represent the region in the national finals at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, tomorrow week.
In the overall team result Alleyn Court won the year four boys event and the year six girls.
They were second in years five and six for the boys and year five girls and seventh for year four.
