Newly-promoted Rayleigh Wyverns are preparing for the prospect of higher-level rugby next season by stepping up their training programme -- they will have twice-weekly sessions from early next month.
Coach Peter Buckley said: "We have decided to add the extra session for two reasons. Firstly to increase the fitness levels of everybody at the club and also it gives all the players the option that if they can not make the Tuesday hopefully they will be able to come on Thursday."
Rayleigh were promoted as runners-up from Eastern Counties Three North East and are looking to be in tip-top shape to consolidate their position in Two North, though the proposed re-structuring of rugby in the county may see them plying their trade in Division Two of the new Essex League.
Wyverns chairman Roy Coombes added: "Training is open to everybody, we would love to see some new faces this year."
Training at the club's Runwell Hospital Sports Ground home kicks off at 7.30pm on Wednesday, July 2.
