Angry residents have branded their council flats a "disgusting tip".
They claim their quality of life has been destroyed by fly-tippers.
And they are calling on Tendring Council for help.
The residents, in Hadleigh Road, Clacton, reported dumped cars, household rubbish and even used syringes.
They said they have made numerous calls to Tendring Council asking them to clean up the area but, so far, no action has been taken.
Leading protester Helen Doddridge said: "Most of us are fed up at the amount of rubbish dumped here by other people.
"To make matters worse, black plastic sacks containing household rubbish often split, and rubbish blows everywhere."
Residents also complain syringes litter the pathways and pointed out that with two nearby schools, children could be in danger.
Richard Harvey, Tendring Council's acting head of housing, said an estate officer had met with estate residents and a special order had been made for the site to be cleared.
