A baby thought to have been abducted from his mother's home has been returned safe and well.
Four-month-old Emanuel Lamport was taken from his mother's home in Putney, London, on Friday by 18-year-old Monique Kemp who was a friend of a friend of the mother's and said she was taking the baby to the shops.
Although Monique, who originates from Southend but now lives in Brixton, rang the mother twice to say she had been delayed, Emanuel had still not returned by Saturday and the alarm was raised. He was eventually returned to his mother on Saturday night.
Police said a friend of the mother's had taken Emanuel home after receiving information about his whereabouts.
Det Insp Jonathan Spink said: "Our main concern was always for the safe return of Emanuel. He has now been reunited with his mother."
Police said the baby was understood to have been taken to the Finsbury Park area of London.
