Orsett are back on top of the first division after seeing off Chingford while previous leaders Woodford Wells slipped up at Chelmsford.
On a good day for batsmen Chingford may feel they declared too early after B Rowan's 61 had helped them to their total.
For the hosts made comfortable progress towards their fourth win of the season thanks to the efforts of G Welsh (64) and R Turner (62).
Orsett now lead the section by three points as they prepare to travel to second-placed Woodford Wells in a summit clash next Saturday.
