A motorcyclist has died following a collision involving a horse box.
Keith Smith, 43, of Bendlows Road, Great Bardfield, was involved in a collision on Bell Lane at its junction with Black Lane in Great Bardfield, at 2.05pm Saturday
Traffic police closed the road for two hours while they investigated the incident.
Mr Smith had been riding a 1000cc blue Kawasaki motorbike towards Great Bardfield and the brown horse box had been travelling in the opposite direction.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.
Mr Smith's family have agreed for his organs to be donated.
The driver of the horse box, a 41-year-old woman from Wethersfield, was uninjured.
