Basildon's tournament snooker star Stuart Bingham made light of having to give Wickford A opponent Chris Pollock a 49 start in each frame to win the Vic Harris League Division One singles title.
Pollock, the most consistent League player over the past couple of years, twice led and was 50 points ahead in the fifth frame decider.
But Bingham, playing out of Leigh's Executive Club, bounced back from 50 behind to take the honours and end Pollock's hopes of a third successive singles crown.
There was some consolation for Pollock when he and Wickford A partner Nigel Howe picked up the Division One doubles crown.
Presentations were held at the Essex Snooker Club, High Road, Benfleet, and, with Vic Harris unavailable through illness, awards were made by League secretary Chris Mullins and match secretary Simon Eves.
