Motorcycling ace Phil Seton rode with a broken wrist in order to keep his title quest alive in a top competition.
The 28-year-old refused to let the fracture stop him taking part in rounds four and five of the BMCRC King of Clubs Championship in Lydden Hill, Kent.
He had his cast removed in order to wear a glove - and duly picked up enough points to stay involved in the title stakes.
Seton, from Fingringhoe, even had to prove his fitness by winning an appeal, after medical staff ordered him not to ride.
He said: "I was fifth in the table before the races so knew if I didn't ride I could kiss goodbye to my title hopes.
"The wrist was making it very difficult to ride, but in the end it was worth it."
