Despite losing their Sunday game with Herongate, who scored 206-6 in their 40 overs, highlight of the day for Stanford-le-Hope was an extraordinary tenth-wicket stand of 68 between Mark Knight (61 not out) and Wilf Gansbuhler (18).
They broke one of the club's longest-standing batting partnerships which dated back some 48 years to 1955 when Redhouse and Dowsett added 63 for the last wicket against Rayleigh.
Stanford, however, were bowled out for 151 in 34.4 overs with M Burzier taking 4-31.
