A high school is to receive a £400,000 makeover over the summer holidays.
Come September, pupils from Thorpe Bay School, in Southchurch Boulevard, Southend, will be greeted with a transformed school.
The money has been allocated by the Local Education Authority to complete the work which is due to begin next month.
Plans include:
A new drama room
Refurbishment of pupil toilets and new additional toilets
Air conditioning in the computer suite
Removal of demountable buildings
Headteacher Jean Alder said: "It will make such a difference to the way the students view the school. It will be somewhere they can be proud of."
