Criminals beware! The magistrates and lawyers of tomorrow could be from the Stanway School, near Colchester. And they're very good at it.
A team of 15 Stanway School pupils have won the southern counties regional final of the Citizenship Foundation Magistrates' Court Mock Trial Competition.
And, having fought off competition from four grammar schools in Kent, they are now off to the national finals in Leeds.
The pupils involved are Amy Paris, Nicholas Clarke, Philippa Russell, Rebecca Avery, Adrian Barnes, Simon Baister, Georgina Burrows, Michelle Johnson, Amy Everitt, Catherine Warener, Nicola Taylor, Angela Oxley-Crisp, Andrew Hippisley, Simon Russell and Liam Lunniss, who are part of the school's 'gifted and talented' programme
