A musical evening at New Hall School in Boreham has raised £630 for the Essex Chronicle's charity, the Thomas Clark Appeal in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
An audience of 120 people attended the concert, given by pianist Tim Carey, with Suzanne Loze on violin, Elena Artamonova on viola and Andrew Fardell on clarinet.
Anne Sparrow from New Hall school said: ''It was a memorable evening and the music was absolutely stunning.
"Some of the girls helping on the evening were friends with Tom Clark during his time at St Cedds school in Chelmsford."
Money raised from the evening will go towards the Thomas Clark Appeal to help launch a pioneering Patient and Family Support Scheme to help teenager cancer patients teenagers and their families.
Essex Chronicle readers are showing their support for the appeal by staging and supporting fundraising events and by making donations, some of them anonymous, to help towards the appeal target of £40,000.
Donations for the appeal should be made out to The Teenage Cancer Trust and can be sent to The Thomas Clark TCT Appeal, Newsroom, Essex Chronicle, Westway, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 3BE or to The Thomas Clark TCT Appeal, c/o The Finance Manager, King Edward VI Grammar School, Broomfield Road, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 3SX.
