Police were today hunting an attacker who chopped a man's hand off. Officers and paramedics were called late on Monday night to a street in Dagenham, and found the victim with his left hand severed.
David Roberts, 22, a shop supervisor, had raised his arm to protect himself, a police spokesman said.
His hand was sewn back on by surgeons in a 12-hour operation.
