Colchester United will be going orange on their travels in the new soccer season.
And delighted by the change, U's hero Sam Stockley - the first Layer Road star to don the new 2003-2004 away kit - gave the luminous carrot colour a big players' thumbs up.
"It's great," said the popular wing-back. "And from a playing point of view it's nice and light too.
"We had a choice of what we wanted and while some went for an all silver-grey kit, others plumped for the orange."
The official new away kit consists of a colourful, collarless orange shirt with a black panel down each side; black shorts - maybe with an orange stripe on each side - plus black socks with an Arsenal-style orange panel stretching from top to bottom with the letters CUFC embroidered inside.
"It looks very smart," said Stockley. "And the shirt will look even better with my squad number 25 emblazoned on the back of it."
