Batons were twirling, dancers were dancing and charity cans were shaking at this year's Thurrock Carnival.

Despite fears of rain the procession hit the streets in all its glory and did carnival chairman Ken Collins proud. He said: "We hope to top the £800 we raised last year."
The carnival, which set off from the Blackshots field in Grays consisted of around 20 floats, two majorette troops and a wagon.
Money raised this year will be split between Victim Support and St Luke's Hospice.
