A fire in an abandoned lorry spread to a derelict railway station building.
Firefighters from Clacton and Weeley were called to the suspicious blaze at Weeley railway station at 10.45pm last night
A spokesman for Clacton fire station said they spent one and a half hours at the scene where a lorry parked next to the station building was burning.
Firefighters put out the blaze in the lorry but the fire caught the main electricity cables alight and some of the roof timbers of the disused railway station building.
The power had to be isolated before firefighters were able to continue their work and make sure the fire was put out properly.
The spokesman said: "We managed to prevent it from burning down but Railtrack and the electricity board had to come and make sure it was safe."
