A seaside fish and chip shop has proved once more its the plaice to be.
For the third year running Reg's combination of quality and taste has battered the opposition into submission.
The popular Clacton fish and chip shop in Ravensdale is one of only three per cent in the country to have managed to gain the Seafish Quality Award.
The shop, run by Tim Skinner, was the first in Essex to win the award in 2001.
Jim Hyam, a quality adviser to the Seafish industry Authority, said: "The fish was excellent. It had a moist texture and sweet flavour.
"The batter was well cooked, light and crisp. The chips were chunky , crisp and dry, and well cooked."
The award was originally created to give fish and chip shops an industry award.
