Glebe Infant School, in Creswick Avenue, Rayleigh, has just spent £37,500 developing a special children's play area which will allow its hearing impaired pupils to play together with hearing students.
Now the teachers have decided to do a sponsored parachute jump so they can get money to buy specialist play equipment for the area.
Teachers Janine Boston, Sam North, Adele Cobbledick, Linda Nelson and Gill Daldry will be flying off from Catterick in North Yorkshire on Saturday for their daring jump. Headteacher Monica Dimmock said: "The five teachers came up with the idea of the jump themselves - they are very brave and I hope they manage to raise a lot of money through it."
Anyone who would like to sponsor the teachers should contact the school on 01268 785414.
