A man who attacked c2c security staff was today behind bars.
Michael Kelly, 43, admitted punching a guard at Shoebury station on May 13 and was jailed for two months.
The guard asked Kelly where he was going as he seemed confused, but Kelly lashed out cutting the guard's lip, Southend Magistrates' Court heard.
Kelly, of Portland Avenue, Southend, was pulled off the train by guards.
Jailing him for common assault, District Judge Kevin Gray, said: "These are effectively public servants whose only protection is from the courts. You have a number of previous convictions for violence."
