Andy Flower hit his first century of the season as Essex beat tourists Pakistan by 50 runs in a day-night match.
It was the first match to be played under the new floodlights at the County Ground.
Flower's 115 not out helped an under strength Essex team make a total of 284 for six.
Essex's James Foster, hit 56 off just 67 balls.
The tourists could only respond with 234 all out in 46.1 overs.
Graham Napier dismissed Imran Nazir and skipper Yousuf Youhana in his third over and debutant Nick Denning then had Younis Khan caught at short mid-wicket.
Yasir Hameed scored 82 from 89 balls, including nine fours.
