Firefighters had more than 500 visitors to their open day and managed to raise hundreds of pounds at the same time.

Rochford fire station in South Street raised £176 by washing cars and a further £150 with a raffle and stall. The money raised on Saturday will go to the Firefighters Benevolent Fund.
The day also gave families a chance to look around the station, meet the firefighters and get tips on how to make their homes safe.
