Prize - Marcus Stones with sister Paris Picture: STEVE BRADING
He demonstrated his skill in the latest craze to sweep the playground.
Marcus Stones, who attends Stanway Primary School, came second in the regional heats of a national contest in Ipswich.
It tested his skills with the Beyblade, which is like a hi-tech spinning top. The event attracted 200 children. Marcus had to spin his way through 15 rounds to win his place in a further competition.
His sister, eight-year-old Paris, was one of just three girls to enter the contest for the under-12s.
