A community safety initiative aimed at educating youngsters on the possible dangers they face in their day to day life has been a resounding success, the organiser said.
PC Jacque Barber, Castle Point's schools liaison officer, ran the week-long workshop and invited year six pupils from the borough's schools.
The youngsters were brought to the Paddocks, in Long Road, Canvey, to take part in a range of activities geared to make them think on their feet.

PC Barber, said: "I am very pleased with how the community safety initiative went.
"The children took part in ten different safety scenarios and were encouraged to think about the dangers each one presented and how they would handle it."
The scheme was designed to focus on railway safety, first aid, making a 999 call, electricity, anti-bullying, crime in the community, "stranger danger", road safety, drugs awareness, lorry danger and water safety.
