A shopping centre undergoing a massive revamp is preparing to take on a new identity with the creation of a new logo.
Shoppers in Grays are being invited to pick one of four shortlisted designs which will herald a new era for the centre.
Chainbow and GE Real Estate Europe bought the centre for £28million from Fordgate in April.
Roger Southam, managing director of Chainbow, said the first thing on its list is a new logo for the centre which includes the indoor malls and shops facing onto Clarence Road.
Four logos have been suggested and Mr Southam said: "We are seeking the views and preferences of the shoppers at Grays.
"We will have posters around the centre with forms for customers to make their choice of which one they prefer."
He added: "We see this as an ongoing process with the community - an effort to try to include them in the adaptation and changes to their centre. We do not want to dictate what happens but rather give them a choice on their town. This is also demonstrated in the survey carried out over half-term week with shoppers. The results for this should be available in a few weeks."
